In broad strokes, the inclusion of the new Phillips Pathway for Inclusive Leadership (PPIL) program into Columbia’s essay prompts presents a wonderful opportunity for all applicants to present how they overcame a workplace challenge. If you have worked or volunteered in a DEI capacity, or the initiative plays a big part in your career goals, we strongly recommend that you give this prompt serious consideration. That being said, if you do not choose this question there remains ample room in Columbia’s essay packet to illustrate not only your accomplishments but your DEI values as well, ensuring no one gets left out.
